Tidy It Up ! uses the settings of this dialog when it reorganizes the icon positions of a folder which is viewed by icons.  The number of columns doesn't include the optional dummy category files.  The distances are shown in pixels.  The Finder Sizes button resets the distances to predefined values which are a multiple of the Finders' grid.
